This is a big week for us. Ian is going to finally have his permanent legs finished up tomorrow! These are the ones we have been aiming to have since the very beginning. They are lighter than all the temporary ones that he has had and have a better suspension system. He should be able to keep these for the next 6 months to a year with very minimal adjustments. It’s so great to finally have them- I can’t believe this is it.

A bit of good news related to this is that Ian can now start running. Yay! He will need to get special running legs called blades to run with. Our prosthetist tells us that insurance does not cover a second pair of legs and would consider that to be more of a luxury. So, we are trying to get some donated… Possibly an amputee that has outgrown his or something like that. We will see! I’m sure God will provide them for us.

This is the week that Ian will be speaking at our high school baccalaureate. We are so excited to be going back home for a few days. I’m also nervous about the four hour drive home. This will be the first time we take a trip with the five of us since Ian got sick. It’s a big deal for our family.

I’m also very anxious to hear him speak. I know he has a wonderful heart and an amazing story to tell. I want others to hear it, too!

We are so grateful. Life seems like it has finally reached the “new normal.” We are enjoying every minute of it! God is so good!!!

  1. Praying for a great trip down to Mission. Enjoy the time with family and friends! I will also pray for
God to provide the blades. I know the speech and memories you will have from this trip are going to
be wonderful. And yes, God is SO good!

  2. Oh, I can’t wait to see him run. I know he’ll get his legs…let us know if there’s anything we can do to help provide. What a great birthday week. Thinking of you lots.

  3. I am so very proud of both of you & inspired by your GREAT faith! You both are such a testimony to God’s great power & love.
HE has something very special planed for your life. I can’t wait to see how it unfolds.
